Question and Answer
Extensions
What extensions do you offer?
I have several brands that I have to order from. All are professional quality and have a great reputation. The specific methods I offer are keratin infusions, I-Tip, weft sew-in, and tape methods. No one is better than the other. It just depends on the client’s individual needs. It is not uncommon to employ a hybrid install; this is using two methods on the same head to achieve the desired results.
How will I know what the right method is for me?
Generally after a question or two, I am able to rule out a method or two because they clearly won’t fit the client’s lifestyle or required up keep. For example if a client swims daily and doesn’t want to have to take the time to dry the wefts after each swim, the sew-in method is probably not the best method and I can start looking to the other methods to be the solution.
Why use two different methods?
Each method has its happy purpose in life. While there is some wiggle room here, sometimes one method simply won’t serve the purpose all over the head.
A good example of this is keratin infusions are an excellent choice for adding length and density on the sides and back of the head, but not such a good choice as we approach the top of the head. Instead of placing the bonds too high, we can go in with some tape extensions. It gives a seamless smooth look without risking showing that one is wearing extensions.
Are extensions expensive?
Ah, one of my favorite questions because the answer is so easy for me: I don’t know. Expensive is a relative concept. What is expensive for you might not be for me and vice versa. You get to decide if the benefit out weights the cost. The good news is that you will be right no matter what you decide. If you are considering this as a possible option for you, book a consult.
Will extensions harm or break my hair?
With proper applications from me, and reasonable care from you, no. As a professional, it is my job to present you with all the information you need to be able to make an informed decision about which method would be right for you. This included an honest picture of what up keep looks like and all that requires. One thing that I require is popping back in two weeks post application for a free 15 minute “check under the hood” appointment. I want to make sure that everything is as it’s supposed to be. If there is an up keep issue, I will see it and we will be able to corse correct before there is ever a problem.
What happens in an extension consult?
Why does it cost $50?
This is the fact gathering time for me. I ask questions to find out exactly which method works better for your needs. I find out if we are lengthening or just adding density. If it’s just adding density, are we adding it all over or only in target spots such as the sides of the head. Once this is determined, the we do a color match. At minimum, I will use at least three colors to create a look that any one that doesn’t know you won’t know you didn’t grow it.
The deposit will be used toward the service if you decide to continue on this journey.
